During our grandparents's time, the world wasn't as globalised and industrialized as it is now. Due to lesser no. of mass production industries and vehicles, there was less noise pollution.

I do not think we can replicate the same level of noise pollution of those times, but we can try to bring down existing noise pollution levels by using soundproofing systems and making generally less noisy necessities

There was less noise pollution during the time of our Grandparents because of the following reasons:-

  • Noise is an undesirable high amount of sound, which in excess causes Noise pollution.
  • Noise pollution can cause short and long-term effects such as headaches, hearing problems, irritation, cardiovascular diseases, etc.
  • During our Grandparent's time, there was less noise pollution because there were no facilities available as such in Today's time.
  • The area of past times was not urbanized and developed, also there were no more machines, automobiles, and other things to cause such Noise pollution.
  • There were more trees which also reduces the effect of sound.

We can use those practices done in the past times for sure but the same effect is not guaranteed as the level of Pollution, advancement, urbanization and the number of vehicles has great increase in their numbers. We can not replicate the same environment but can improve the quality of the present environment by planting more trees as trees absorb noise to a great extent.
