We know that all plants, trees, etc. respire. In the same way this is an 46% experiment that shows the respiration of the plant. When you cover the plant with the a polythene bag the respiration does not contact with the atmosphere outside. It starts the condensation process right there and after a while we notice that there are water droplets on the inside of the polythene bag. On the other hand if you use any other bag such as jute air passes through it easily and hence no droplet formation is seen.
