The pharaohs believed in resurrection, so Tutankhamen’s body was buried with precious things and gold and other metals.

The brilliance from these metals was a guarantee for resurrection.

The belief was if the rich dead were buried with treasures, they will enjoy the same facility that they experienced in the earth in their afterlife after death.

Answer:

The Egyptians believed that death is temporary and the costly belongings of their kings will be needed in the afterlife. In the beginning even their servants were killed with a blow on the head and buried with the dead pharaohs, but this was later discontinued.

King Tut was buried with glittering gold, precious collars, inlaid necklace, bracelets, rings, amulets, his royal fan, sandals, and burial mask of pure gold.
