Zabt system was a tax system that was adopted by the Mughals.It was adopted after a ten year survey on crop and their cultivation.After the survey the tax was fixed and then it was adopted in all the states in India.

Zabt was decided after so much research because it helped Akbar have a control over the payment made by his officials with high ranking. Also, extensive research was done to determine the rate of revenue generated by a crop in each province. The tax for each crop was fixed based on this. Accordingly, the provinces were categorized into different revenue circles.
