Why wasn't Buddhism followed in India?

in India there are many religions like hindu Muslims Sikhs Christian etc many people are hindu and follow the hindusim and Muslims follow Islam etc but people who follow the Buddhism they died in war of Muslims and Buddhism so the Buddhism are not follow in India

Yes Buddhism was followed in India but by a very less number of people because in India there are many religions such as Hinduism, Islam, Christianity and the people who followed Buddhism died in the war of Islam and Hinduism. but now Buddhism also have a great followers.
