why water gets cooled in earthen pots

In an earthen pot, water getsevaporated quickly through the pores
Cooling is caused by evaporation. Some heat energy is utilised during the process of evaporation.....................

The water kept in an earthen pot (matka) becomes cool during summer because of the evaporation of water through the fine holes in the earthen pot which makes it cool.
