why water has its maximum density at 4 degree C although it contracts and density increases more from 0 to -- 4 degree C

ITS SOMETHING LIKE...THAT
WHEN WATER IS AT 4°c ...its Particles are some near as compared to water at 25°c.....we already know that Solid has more density as compared to liquids ..
Water is approaching at the state to become solid.
....that's why it has maximum density ...
