water is a gud conducter because it contains alot of free ions which are required for conduction of electricity

If the question is not asked about pure water then how come could you know that it is asked about tap or impure water?

Pure Water is a bad conductor of electricty because its molecules do not have free electrons for the flow of current.
you also, mention about impure water also..Impure water contains minerals so it conducts electricity well
