Water is blue in color because, water absorbs long wavelength lights such as orange, red and yellow, whereas it reflects ( absorbs less ) short wavelength lights such as blue.
As sunlight falls on water, blue light I reflected and water appears to be blue.
This same happens in chlorophyll.
