this is bcoz of hybridisation taking place in them in H₂O  is sp³

CO₂ is sp. how to find is 2 sigma bonds sp

                                         3 sigma bonds sp²

                                          4.........................sp³

                                          5........................sp³d

                                         6.........................sp³d²

                                   and 7 sigma bonds it is sp³d³

there is no involvement of π bond in hybridisation
