Our Earth is formed of many plates, which are joined together. An example of it is our own, the Indian Plate. When the earth rotates and revolves, these plates often clash with each other, which causes earthquakes and tsunamis. You may not be knowing, but everytime we experience an earthquake, but we always don't sense them because of their low magnitude.This is the reason for the wave formation in seas and oceans
