White blood cells are the soldiers of our body. They play major role in defence mechanism. At the site of infection, white blood cells gather to destroy pathogens. Their amoeboid shape helps them to squeeze through blood capillaries and at the same time their pseudopodia help to destroy pathogens by the process of phagocytosis.
