The Delhi Sultanate, broadly speaking, was a Muslim State based in Delhi and was endowed with Indo-Islamic socio-cultural aspects. At its peak, the Delhi Sultanate was a highly militarised society. The Sultanate was ruled by five different and unrelated dynasties, who were sometimes independent and sometimes quasi-independent.
