why we can not respire through our skin ...

It is not possible for humans to breathe through skin...we cant inhale o2 and exhale co2 through our skin bcoz of that we are provided with lungs which can inhale large amount of o2 according to our body size. But, in case of animals, its different, their skin is moist and tiny blood vessels and capillaries underneath their skin which transports o2 to various tissues and carry co2 to the outer skin layer
