Why we can not use anhydrous barium per oxide in the preparation of hydrogen peroxide

BaO2.8 H2O is used along with conc H2SO4 and this forms BaSO4 which is water insoluble and forms a protective layer on Bao2. If used but not with BaO2 thus stopping its further decomposition
