why we can't breathe while swallowing the food?​

We can't breathe while swallowing the food because that time our wind pipe is closed and food pipe (esophagus) is open..

Because while swallowing epiglottis closes the wind pipe preventing food from entering the wind pipe hence breathing while swallowing is not possible
