Hi friend,
•This is because our olfactory receptors(smell receptors) and gustatory receptors (taste receptors ) have an interconnection .
If we close our nose then because of the smell receptors being closed taste receptors are also affected. And this is the case which happens when we have cold and cough.
Hope this helps you.:)
