It is due to adaptation.when we came out from sunlight, our iris takes time to adapt That is why you can't see for a while when you came from outside in sunlight.

When we come from bright sunlight to a dark room we can't see anything for a while because the pupils in our eyes takes little time to adjust itself with the intensity of light.
