Why we can't think about our death when we are conscious, but we can when we are unconscious?

Rhetorical remark!

Dude how are you conscious enough to think about something while being Unconscious?

If "unconscious" in this context means the state of being idle, then you have your answer - we're idle, mind is not occupied by anything, free to wander and think deep, from why ants have antennas to what's the meaning of life, that's the thing - we have an inquisitive mind, we are eager to inquire about everything, our existence, our end, God, the universe et cetera.

We know death is something which we all try our best to hide from, no one's ready to accept the fact that we are mortals, except for our mind which provokes us constantly when not in use.

Thanks,
