why we cannot cut peice of ice easily? give a small answer.

Matter is made up of small invisible particles. ... Even though momentarily we can cut the flow of water by placing our hand or finger in between water steam but permanently we cannot cut the water stream as liquid particles are binded with inter MOLECULAR force of attraction.
