Because in a dark room your body is not able to reflect light. It is the light reflected by your body that gets reflected by the mirror to form an image in a dark room there is no light to be reflected body hence no image is formed

Answer:

because formation of image needs light and in the dark room light does not travels as there is no source of light. therefore we cannot see our image and to make it visible we have to hold a candle or a torch in hand towards our mouth.
