Legend behind Holi :

Before celebrating any festival, there is a legend behind it. So, behind Holi celebration, their is a legend. It is said that, once upon a time, there was a devil named 'hiranyakashyap', he thought himself to be God. He'd not allowed any one to worship God. But his son named 'Prahlad' was devotee of lord vishnu. He tried to kill him but was failed.

So he called his sister 'Holika', she had got blessings from lord Brahma, that she'll not burn in fire. She took Prahlad and Sat in the fire. But by the God's grace, he was saved and Holika was burnt in that born fire. From that day, every year people celebrate Holi and Holika dahan.
