Why we don't use modulus instead of taking squares of deviations from the mean to calculate sd?

Actually we need follow Modulus property as it is, but till our 10th standard the element or the quantity in side Modulus is positive so we do not consider that property. Maximum in any school they will not explain this except some iit. sections etc..

The Modulus Property is very important for Objective examinations there according to the problem we need to take it as positive or negative
