Why we drink soft drink by straw on hill station

when we drink soft drink with the help of a straw, the liquid rises up.

When we suck air from the straw, vaccum is created inside the straw.

The vaccum forces the liquid to come out of the straw.It is due to the difference of atmospheric pressure.The liquid is forced to rise, from the place where atmospheric pressure is low , to the place where the pressure is high.

Therefore, the liquid rises up in the straw.
