""" ❤️ Answer ❤️ """
Acetone, petrol, perfume etc., being volatile, evaporate very fast when exposed to larger surfaces. When we put some acetone or petrol or perfume on our palm, it evaporates. During evaporation, particles of the liquid absorb energy from the surface of the palm to compensate for the loss of energy, making the surroundings cool. The acetone, petrol or perfume take this latent heat of vaporisation from our palm. The palm loses heat and feels cold.
Answer:
When we place them on our palms, not only do they undergo evaporation almost immediately, they also acquire/pick up some energy from our palms while doing so. When evaporation takes place, it leaves its surroundings cooler than before. Hence our palms feel cold when we put alcohol or perfume on them.
