According to the students, relational rules are the most important in school. Students also value protecting and structuring rules as important because of the meaning giving to them. Etiquette rules are valued as the least important or even unnecessary by the students.

School rules are important to followbecause they enable the class to run smoothly so that everyone can learn and benefit from what the teacher has to offer. ... They are instituted in the workplace, so students should learn to follow rules before they get to adulthood and need to abide by them to make a living.
