Digestion is a process of breaking down of chunks of food into small particles and further into its constituent molecules like protein and amino acids , carbohydrates etc.
Our body needs energy and different nutrients and it can only absorb it from the foods we take if it's in the form which can be easily assimilated by out small intestine and other assimilator .
Hence, to get the nutrients it's required to digest the food well.
