Answer:

Studying is essential for the survival of the human race.

Studying helps society and individuals evolve and develop.

“If you always do what you've always done you will always get what you always got” quote from Henry Ford .

Studying is gaining knowledge or learning, either from previous experience (our own or other peoples') or to experimentally research for ourselves.

As children we learn the basics of life - how to keep alive, to thrive, to socialise, and to cooperate; with the long term aim to live independently and interdependently. Originally we learnt by playing/working alongside adults, by looking carefully and by copying.

Then systems and specialisation within societies became more complicated. This gave greater choice of working roles and of where and how to live but required an extended period of studying.

Now we have formal education to understand the systems, to work the systems and prepare for our role in society. Sometimes we are reluctant to study as the link to survival is harder to see.

When education is guaranteed by law and we are forced to study, our freedom feels infringed. We tend to devalue study and as a result we may resent and rebel. We forget the opportunity to study is a luxury and studying is important for our future welfare.

From birth we gradually learn the basic skills of studying - to observe, to touch, to feel, to taste, to listen, to communicate, to talk, to remember. As juniors we learn how to read, write and do arithmetic (the three Rs). Then, as intermediate students, we learn how to use the three Rs, to consider, to think, to discuss, to debate, to understand, so we can also benefit from the experience of other people. As senior students we choose which subjects to specialise in - relevant to our interests, our future role in society, or for general information. At higher levels we may - hone specialist skills, go into research to add to knowledge, aid development, teach or continue studying to search for enlightenment and greater understanding.

Some people think early humans had the same level of brain power as we do now. It is the millennia of human experience, the systems, the specialisation and the ability to pass on and learn from the accumulated knowledge which enables modern babies to have the abilities, the health and the opportunities of the modern world.

We live on a crust of knowledge gained from the past; it is maintained and added to by each generation. But mostly, we remain unaware how easily knowledge and skills are lost; unaware how fragile human society is.

Do not study (formally or informally) and you will stay as you are. You may fail to thrive. You may regress. you may unwittingly be blinkered and prejudiced. You may remain more dependent, may have difficulty finding work and may end up with no income. You are more likely to feel trapped like a cog in a wheel rather than like the person steering the bike.

Study and your opportunities, your knowledge and your understanding increase. You gain confidence and have a wider range of topics to talk about. You will increase your abilities, you are more likely to find work and you are more likely to have a higher income. Carry on studying and benefits continue throughout life.

One of the greatest benefits of studying is it helps expand awareness, with greater understanding of yourself, other people and the many worlds around you.

“Failure is the opportunity to begin again" Henry Ford.

Answer:

If you study regularly and practice good study skills, you'll find that you eventually apply those skills to the real world. ... Studying regularly can also help prevent procrastination. It can even help you retain knowledge for future classes as you learn to make notes and highlight the important parts of what you read.
