Vocational education can  be termed as job-oriented education.  It help a person in becoming skilled in a particular field at a comparatively lower age.  Those who want to set up a small establishment of their own can enjoy the benefits of vocational education.Vocational training should be considered an important aspect of education and development to make students apt for a job. There are many institutes which offer vocational training which means that a student just after high school has the option of acquiring skills he/she desires to be able to be suitable for a job. It is a kind of  replacement to the formal college/university studies after high school. Many vocational training institutes do offer certain life skills and english speaking courses along with a selected vocational stream which can serve as a great alternative for students. Students opt for conventional college studies to acquire degrees, and a large section thinks that vocational education is for those with lower aptitude which is far from the truth.

Vocational education enhances practical knowledge and life skills and the focus here lies on learning exactly what is applicable in the real world, it is an open course which means anyone who is willing to learn without any age or other considerations can. It builds a formidable work force to enhance the nation’s economy. It serves as a great alternative for those who want to learn early and cannot afford to invest three or four years to earn a university degree. It offers a wide range of job opportunities and doesn’t cost much compared to the tremendous amount of money a conventional degree requires.

Hence, vocational training is a pillar of our education system but it needs to be revived. It is a great alternative to study what the market demands. It promotes education and can give a break from high dropout rate of students after high school.
