Answer:
The British Raj (/rɑːdʒ/; from rāj, literally, "rule" in Sanskrit and Hindustani)[3] was the rule by the British Crown primarily on the Indian subcontinent from 1858 to 1947.[4][5][6][7] The rule is also called Crown rule in India,[8] or direct rule in India.[9] The region under British control was commonly called India in contemporaneous usage, and included areas directly administered by the United Kingdom, which were collectively called British India, and areas ruled by indigenous rulers, but under British tutelage or paramountcy, called the princely states. The region was sometimes called the Indian Empire, though not officially.[10]

Answer:
Well that's indeed a valid point.
Explanation:
Maybe because other countries didn't have much influence on our country. Other countries came purely for trade - spices and cotton etc but maybe East India company had ulterior motive (?)
Other countries didn't try to conquer India, but British did, and admittedly they succeeded. They defeated a lot of our kings, spread their rule and control over India, and India came under colonial rule whereas other countries just came, did some trade and went back to their own respecive countries. They didn't influence the administritive system of India, they didn't try to rule, but British did. They influenced our history.
