Why we should not use" once upon a time"while writing a story?

suppose the story is of horror or the story might be of adventurous the above mentioned sentence destructs the natural beauty of the story. Moreover if you are writing in board the teacher may feel it as one of the boring story and its a type of loss thats the reason
