We should save birds because they are helpful to us in the following ways:

1. Pollination - Birds help in reproduction of flowers. Reproduction can only take place in plants after the pollination. Some birds pollinate pollens. They are also called pollinators. They pollinate male gamates from Stemen of a flower to the pistil of a flower. Fertilisation in plants takes place after the pollination. Without birds, pollination can't be taken place, and plants would not be able to reproduce. Thatswhy we should save birds.
2. Controlling pests population - Birds are important in the food chain. They eat pests (insects) and control the population of the pests. We can say that birds are also the friends of farmers. Because without birds, as you know pests (insects) damages the crops of farmers, and when there are no birds, the population of insects increases and chances of damage of the crops also increases. And with the help of birds, the chances of damage of crops decreases because birds control pests (insects) population. Thatswhy we should save birds.
3. They help in seed dispersal - Some birds help some plants to spread their seeds in different areas. They help in seed dispersal. As they eat fruits, along with fruits they eat, the seeds also come in their stomach. These seeds gets released from their stomach after the digestion and gets dropped in different areas. Thus, they also help in seed dispersal. Thatswhy we should save birds.
4. Some birds clean up the dead animals - Some birds also known as Scavengers eat up the dead and remains of animals. This prevents from the production of harmful viruses. Some examples of scavengers are: Vulture, falcon, eagle, etc.

How to Save birds?

To save the birds we can do the small following helps:

1. We can keep water for them on our roof. As you know, birds do very hard to find water nd some birds die if they don't get water. So we can help birds by keeping water in containers on our roof.
2. We can keep food such seeds of grains for them. They also do hard to get food. We can help them by keeping seeds (or other foods edible for birds) in the bird feeder.
