Chromium has 24 electrons, so its electronic configuration should be: 1S2 2S2 2p6 3S2 3p64S2 3d4, but due to stability of half filled orbitals or completely filled orbitals, one electron gets transferred from 4S to 3d and give exceptional electronic configuration: 1S2 2S2 2p6 3S2 3p6 4S1 3d5.
