Why we write the area of triangle as ½ x B x H other than ½ + Bx H

Area is rectangle = b x h,

where b is length and h is width of rectangle

The diagonal divides the rectangle into two identical right triangles.

Therefore area of two triangles = b x h

Therefore area of one triangle = b X h / 2.
