Answer:

It is common to find many organized sector enterprises in the unorganized sector. They adopt such strategies to evade taxes and refuse to protect laws that protect them. As a result, many workers were forced to move into the unorganized sector with low wages on losing their jobs in the organized sector.

A large number of workers are forced to enter the unorganized sector , due to lack of job opportunities and , mostly due to poverty . Hence , they have to work under critical working conditions , where there is no job security , neither any health care support

A large number of workers are losing their jobs in the organized sector since the 1990s due to the following reasons.

  • The organized sector comprises companies and industries that provide their employees with regular guaranteed employment along with social security benefits and other benefits.
  • Since the 1990s there has been a shift in the employment structure in India. More and more people are now being employed by the unorganized sector.
  • The employees in the unorganized sector do not get guaranteed employment or any other benefits.
  • This shift has been primarily driven by factors like unemployment and poverty. Another important factor was companies going into the unorganized sector for the purpose of tax evasion.
  • In the unorganized sector, the workers are not protected by government laws and are frequently exploited.
  • Thus, these were the reasons why a large number of workers lost their jobs in the organized sector since the 1990s.
