The history of British Museum began with irish born british 'physicist hans sloane' who died at the aged 93 in 1753.
during his life he collected many important things from all around the world.when he died he didn't want his collection to be spilt up between his relatives. He sold his collection to parliament of king george 2nd.The Parliament set up the British Museum and archives to hold this collection. By the time he died he had collected over 8000 object from all over the world inculding Egypt ,Greece rome and America's.The collection mostly books and manuscripts.The government looked at many possible places to built more museums including Buckingham house which laterl become Buckingham Palace
