Why were both the hindus and muslims discontent with the british in the 1857 revolt social?

at the time of 1857 revolt the British invented new rewalwer contains bullets that bullet makes with the fat of cow and pig for its covering this fat protects the bullet at large time but Hindus and Muslims were discontent the British because Hindus love cow and Muslim hate pigs Hindus believe cow as God or godesses due to these reasons the main important leaders like jhansy laxmi bhai,tantiatope, etc.....were mainly participated in 1857 revolt
