Why were Indian foods nd fibre crops exported to Europe in the end of the 19th century?

The food which were exported to Europe were: Cotton, sugarcane, jute, and wheat. The reason of importing these crops and fiber from India is that their atmosphere and surroundings were not capable of growing these crops.so they decides to do this.
