Iqtadari system was efficiently introduced by Iltutmish. Iqta was a land given to army to collect revenue and meet the basic requirements of soldiers. The military commanders held Iqta were called 'Iqtadars' or 'muqtis' during Delhi Sultanate. They were the administrator of the lands granted by the Sultans.
