The members of Jacobin club belongs mainly to the less prosperous sections of the society.
* A large group among the Jacobin decided to start wearing long stripped trousers similar to those won by dock workers to keep themselve apart from the fashionable sections of the society, especially nobles, who wore knee breeches.
* Small shopkeepers, artisans such as shoemaker, pastry cooks, watch-maker, printers as well as servants and daily wage workers.
