The roads in shahjahanabad especially in it's Chandni Chowk Bazaar and faiz Bazaar were made broad so that the Roya family's procession could pass through these streets easily

Shahjahanabad is also known as Old Delhi and its main streets were Chandni Chowk and Faiz Bazar.

It was so called because of its Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, who founded the city.

The emperor's procession used to pass these streets but due to crowd and restricted space, it used to move slow.

Hence the streets were broadened for everybody's convenience
