Why were peasants /ryots reluctant to grow indigo

Here is ur answer...                                                                                                                                      The peasants were reluctant to grow Indigo because:

1. The price the peasants got for the Indigo was very low.                                                                                                 2. They found it very difficult to repay the loan and the cycle of loans never ended.                                                    

  3. The indigo plantation exhausted the soil rapidly and the peasants could not grow rice on that land afterwards.

The ryots were reluctant to grow indigo for the below-given reasons:

a. They were paid very low-prices for it.

b. The ryots never saw any profit accruing from the indigo plantation.

c. Ryots were asked to grow indigo on the fertile parts of their land by the planters, which they were apprehensive about.
