Answer:

\huge\mathcal\color{navy}{AnsWer!}

Because:-

1) The sepoys, who were Indians trained by the British as soldiers, heard rumors that the cartridges for their new Enfield rifles were greased with lard and beef fat. Since the cow is sacred to Hindus, and the pig is abhorrent to Muslims, all the sepoys were outraged, and they mutinied. Although initially the mutiny was spontaneous, it quickly became more organized and the sepoys even took over the cities of Delhi and Kanpur.

2) They were discontented bcoz dere salaries & opportunities of promotion were not equal to those of British soldiers.

3) The special allowance given 2 them when dey were sent 2 war was discontinued.

4) The sepoys also resented British regulations banning beards and the use of caste marks, and the replacement of turbans with leather caps !!
