Japan actually wanted to add a provision of racial equality to the Versailles Treaty, but both Britain and France never thought or even acknowledge that those living in the developing world were in any way equal to those living in Britain.
Thus, the Western powers at the Versailles table dismissed and did not even pay attention to Japan’s wishes.
Thus, some Japanese leaders were resentful of the peace treaty at Versailles.
