Tipu had requested Nizam of Hyderabad and Marathas to support him against the British as British were outsiders. But both of them did not support Tipu Sultan against British.

British also infiltrated into Tipu Sultan palace through their spies. Most prominent among them was Mir Saddik who gave all inside information to British and also showed them the secret way inside Mysore fort. Because of which British were able to enter the fort and defeat Tipu Sultan who did not surrender and preferred to die in battle.
