Answer:

there are several reasons for this but main reasons are as follows:

1) the revolt was not organised in a suitable manner so it became easy to Britishers to oppress it.

2) it didn't started on the scheduled time , it started before the scheduled time of the revolt so this gave the hint to Britishers regarding a revolution.

3) the revolutionary didn't have a suitable leader to lead thm , so they didn't have a motive after a certain situation during the revolution and this confusion helped the Britishers to recapture the lost territories.

4)revolutionaries didn't have proper resources to carry out the revolution for the long run, Britishers took benefit of this.

5) revolutionaries lost mutual trust during the revolution and this disunity also helped Britishers.
