The konkani peasants used to harvest their kharif crops during October, after which their field were to be made ready for the cultivation of Ravi crops. so they welcomed dhangars because the dhangars cattle used to feed on their harvests and thus manured their field

The Konkani peasants welcomed the dhangar shepherd of Maharashtra because-
1)After the kharif crop was cut by konkani,the fields had to fertilised and that was done by the Dhangar flock dung.
2)The field was also made ready for rabi crops as the flocks ate the stubble.
3)And it return the konkani peasants gave supplies of rice which the Dhangars took back to the plateau where grain was scare.
