why were the names eka-aluminum and eka-silicon to gallium and germanium by mendeleev

Hi , dear !!

when Mendeleev started to arranging the elements in the priodic table , he found that the elements which belongs to same group of Aluminum , silicon , gallium. and germanium

Due to Same property of these elements with respect to Al , Ga ,Ge , Si they were named as Eka - Aluminum , Eka - silicon , etc .
