Guy who lived across the road was what I considered to be excessively religious. He belonged to a very controlling church and tithed at least 10% of his income to the church. He kept his wife more or less in seclusion, not letting out of the house without him. She wasn't allowed to speak in company.

And when the police served a warrant on him they found rooms full of stuff he'd stolen from his employer – stacked up to the ceiling. I always wondered how he squared away his thefts with his Christianity. Never bothered to ask though.
