The people of Telangana were
not satisfied with the prosperity of Hyderabad because they felt that:
1. Till now 10 out of 15 chief ministers have come from the non-Telangana regions of Andhra Pradesh. So except for the capital city of Hyderabad none of the other Telangana regions have improved. Hence the Telangana movement is not hollow.
2. The corruption level in and around Hyderabad had increased in the past 7 years, due to the migration. There were Telangana and Andhra groups in each government department. The Andhra's moved ahead due to the feeling of oneness among them while the other group suffered.
3. There are many examples of discrimination between Telangana and other places in Andhra Pradesh regarding irrigation, industry, building of roads, canals, dams, and in the provision of energy, education and employment.
4. All the agreements made at the time of merger of the two regions in 1958 were deliberately ignored and Telangana excluding Hyderabad was pushed into poverty.
